JOB DESCRIPTION – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE
The Business Development Operations Associate plays a critical role alongside the Senior Manager of Business Development Operations in ensuring the effectiveness of the RTP’s business attraction and retention program. This team member is responsible for assisting with organizational functions that aid in the successful acquisition and retention of clients. These include but are not limited to attending and documenting all applicant and board meetings, ensuring that all RTP Client applications are complete, procuring all necessary documents from RTP clients and attorneys in a timely manner, maintaining applicant files, and working closely with the RTP’s compliance team to ensure that all documents are received, and all commitments are being filled.
POSITION SUMMARY:

This team member is responsible for assisting with organizational functions that aid in the successful acquisition and retention of clients. These include but are not limited to attending and documenting all applicant and board meetings, ensuring that all RTP Client applications are complete, procuring all necessary documents from RTP clients and attorneys in a timely manner, maintaining applicant files, and working closely with the RTP’s compliance team to ensure that all documents are received, and all commitments are being filled.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Business Development Operations Associate reports directly to the Senior Manager of Business Development Operations and Compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work collaboratively with other RTP business development team members to assess the need for and acquire client and attorney documents.
- Work diligently to ensure that all applicant files are complete
- Attend, transcribe, and be actively involved in all applicant meetings
- Attend and transcribe monthly Board Meetings
- Attend and transcribe all UVI Partnership Commitment Meetings and Tax Analysis Review Meetings
- Work collaboratively with the compliance team to assess the need for and acquire outstanding client documents
- Maintain the regulatory records database of key client documents
- Work alongside RTP companies and UVI to ensure that all programmatic commitments are being filled
- Perform other duties as assigned by the UVI RTPark Executive Director or the Senior Manager of Business Development Operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to see the “big picture” while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce required
- deliverables.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Ability to review and understand financial and contractual information and assess compliance requirements.
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills for timely performance of duties with the necessary attention to detail.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, compliance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of previous work experience in business administration, finance, compliance, economic development, or the field of business
Preferred:
- Prior work experience in the USVI.
- A solid working knowledge of the RTPark and the related eco-system of regulations and institutional partners.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $45,000 – $60,000
