Scope of Work Summary

The social media intern assists the marketing manager and specialist execute digital and traditional media campaigns that ensure our audiences have the latest information about the RTPark programs, services, events and milestones via our multiple platforms, but in particular social media, by 1) distributing text and multimedia-based content through curated content calendars, and 2) monitoring social media channels for opportunities to boost engagement.  Additionally, the social media intern may give creative insight into topics to be included in an RTPark editorial calendar and seek creative ways to spread the organization’s message.


  • Assist with creating and executing content calendars to promote the RTPark on various media platforms. Includes but is not limited to:
    • Curating content
    • Creating visuals social media
    • Writing copy for status updates
    • Creating stories for Facebook and Instagram
    • Promoting organization in social media groups
    • Oganize stock photo and RTPark photo/video archives
  • Using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate the company’s social media presence and performance.
  • Fielding and filtering questions, comments, and messages online to the marketing manager and specialist.
  • Support marketing team at live and online events.
  • Performing other duties when needed.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 1-2 years of experience with the major social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Linkedin
  • General knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and internet ranking for web content
  • Knowledge of social media analytics software including Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, and Twitter Analytics to track audience engagement and campaign performance
  • Experience with content management systems, word processor applications, and image/video editing software
  • Experience with Hubspot preferred, but not required
  • Experience with word processor applications and image/video editing software
  • Ability to work alongside a diverse group of employees and simultaneously work toward many company initiatives at once
  • Entry-level understanding of marketing strategy and how to use the concepts throughout various forms of outreach
